S.T.A.R.S.
Seattle/Tacoma Area Rebelscum Society
STARS is a Seattle area based Star Wars Collectors Club without being a club. There are no fees, no officers, and you don't have to register anywhere. Every collector is welcome, whether you collect Star Wars action figures, props and replicas, whether you are a film maker or are into costuming, anything Star Wars goes, and if you have a child, spouse or sister/brother, bring them along!
STARS meets every last Tuesday of each month at 7pm at the Red Robin in Tukwilla, WA (Southcenter Mall).
The attendance varies. There have been over 60 people at one time, and less than 10 at other times. A good average number would be around 15 people at each meeting.
One of the fun aspects of those meetings is the parking lot swap afterwards where all sorts of Star Wars items are given away, traded or sold. Gus Lopez once handed out a complete set of backstage passes from a spanish star wars convention, Tom sold his hard to get Gentle Giant Mini Busts (Boba, AOTC Clones) for cost, and basically we are trying to help each other out finding the "one missing" piece in the collection.
The History of S.T.A.R.S.
STARS was founded in the local Seattle area of the Rebelscum forum in late 2004. Collectors would post their toy reports and pick hard to get items up for each other, and then later meet and swap. Tom B. initiated the "let's make it a regular meeting" idea, and was supported by Dr. Zoltar (Joe), Rick, Huikilu (Jake), Cafortier (Chris), JorusFett (Gary), JoshEEE (Josh), LordBobster (Bob) and a few others. The group has been growing over the years and the meetings are now well established in the Seattle area.
In 2007 MaxWedge (Jim) came up with the fantasic name for the group. It represents the Seattle area, it hints at what the meetings are all about, and it gives credit to Rebelscum.com, where the meetings were first initiated. After we had the name, Tom B. created the logo from scratch for the group.

In the picture you see part of the group, with MaxWedge celebrating his birthday and balancing something on his head? :)
A toy deal gone terribly wrong. Not really. But 6 cop cars, 4 regular, 2 under cover cars, pulled up and lined up right behind us
while we were pulling our Star Wars toys from the trunks ...
