The Force Unleashed Action Figures
The first Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game was supposed to be released in fall of 2007. Unfortunately, the game was delayed for almost one year until it was finally released in September 2008.
Hasbro produced a small line-up of action figures based on the game and released them in 2008's The Anniversary Collection. Ideally, the figures should have been available to collectors at around the same time the game was available, or at least somewhat close to the release date. However, since the game was delayed for so long, the figures could already be found on store shelves in early 2008. Kids and collectors who found the figures in the stores, didn't know who the characters were for another half year until the game shipped.
Besides the release schedule being off, some of the figures aren't very accurate when compared to the characters in the game. So it happens that the Imperial Jumptrooper doesn't have a jetpack, the Shadow Guard's armor is off and the colors on Galen Marek's uniform are not accurate. This was very likely the result of The Force Unleashed going through more development time and details changing during that process, which was too late for Hasbro to make any adjustments.
In April/May of 2010, Hasbro released more The Force Unleashed action figures in two Toys'R'Us exclusive multipacks. The sets containted five figures each and were a mix of repainted and new action figures.
What makes The Force Unleashed action figures fun to collect, is that it's easy to keep an overview of what was released.
