This Clone Trooper from the 212th Battalion was released individually carded during the
Vintage
Collection in February 2011. Clone Troopers with orange markings could be seen in
Revenge Of The Sith, while trying to capture
General Grievous on Utapau.
The figure is based on the previously released generic white Episode 3 Clone Trooper, which was released just a few months before this version. The sculpt is
identical, with 14 points of articulation. This includes ball-joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows, the waist,
the hip, knees and ankles. The only swivel joints are in both wrists. Hasbro included a blaster and blaster rifle with the figure, plus a removable clone trooper helmet. Both weapons are a good fit for the hands, and the helmet covers the entire head nicely.
The armor is kept in a clean and pristine condition, and the orange markings on the Clone Trooper seem to match the movie counterpart. Unfortunately, our sample had some black and orange color smudges on the back. The super articulated sculpt hides the joints very well, and at the same time allows for enough freedom to pose the trooper in many different "battle positions". The inclusion of ball-joints in the hip should also make some collectors happy. The head sculpt has been seen
on many other figures over time, so there are no surprises there. All in all, this
Clone Trooper from the 212th battalion turned out well, and makes a good troop-builder figure.
