TC-70 was seen in The Clone Wars standing next to Jabba The Hutt in Jabba's palace. The female protocol droid was released in April 2009 in a battlepack together with an animated version of Jabba The Hutt. The figure is super articulated with 14 joints, including a ball-jointed waist. The protocol droid can stand securely without any extra help of a stand. In the back of TC-70's head is a small, little round, reddish piece of plastic which let's the light shine through the head. The eyes are made out of the same material, and when the light comes through the back of the head, the eyes "appear" to be lit up. This is a pretty cool feature, which has been implemented in several astromech droids before. Here, it does work pretty well overall. There were no accessories included with the Protocol Droid, but the hands are molded in a way so that a weapon could be placed in either of them. Hasbro did an OK job with the markings on the droid, but they did a very poor job with the overall weathering. That really is the biggest flaw that TC-70 has. It feels a bit cheap, because of it and we've seen really great weathering and paint applications on much older Protocol Droids like C-3PO for example. The creamy color appears to be too bright as well and looks off when compared to the version seen on screen. Besides that though, this is a cool figure based on a cool character. It is super articulated, it has about the correct height and the figure completes your Clone Wars Jabba The Hutt palace diorama nicely.
