Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker was first released individually carded during the original cartoon-style Clone Wars toy line in 2003. Later in 2005, the same version of Skywalker was released in a Walmart exclusive 3-pack titled "Jedi Force Pack".
The figure captures the likeness of Anakin as seen in the original animated-style Clone Wars TV show, which was created by Genndy Tartakovsky.
All Clone Wars figures in this series were clearly aimed at children, and were only given a limited number of joints. They are made out of tougher plastic than basic Star Wars figures,
have less articulation, and are less detailed. Each Clone Wars figure came with a black display stand, which had the Clone Wars logo imprinted.
Anakin Skywalker has 5 joints, including a swivel head, 2 swivel arms, a swivel right elbow, and a movable waist. There are no joints in the hip, and the legs can't be moved either.
The only weapon included with Anakin was a blue lightsaber, which the figure can hold very well in the right hand. It doesn't fit into the left, because the hand is molded with an open palm.
The paint application is applied quite well, and matches the color tone from the TV show. The sculpt
captures the physique of the character nicely, and Hasbro even made sure Anakin
had his padawan hair braid and mechanical arm.
Like with all the figures in the Tartakovsky Clone Wars series, this animated-style
Anakin Skywalker is charming, and
if you like this specific style, you'll very likely enjoy this figure.
