Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker was released individually carded during the first cartoon-style Clone Wars toy line in 2005.
The figure captures the likeness of Anakin as seen in the original animated-style Clone Wars TV show, where he confronted Asajj Ventress.
All Clone Wars figures in this series were clearly aimed at children, and were only given a limited number of joints. They are made out of tougher plastic than basic Star Wars figures,
have less articulation, and are less detailed. Each Clone Wars figure came with a black display stand, which had the Clone Wars logo imprinted.
Just like the previously released cartoon-style Anakin Skywalker figure, this version has also 5 joints, but features an entirely new sculpt (inlcuding a new mechanical arm). The figure has a swivel jointed neck, 2 swivel arms, a swivel right elbow, and a movable waist. There are no joints in the left elbow, the wrists, hip, knees or ankles.
There were two lightsaber included, Anakin's blue saber, and an Asajj Ventress lightsaber. Both weapons fit very well into Anakin's hands.
The paint application is well applied, and the angry face expression looks great. The cut-open pants on the right thigh and the sleeveless shirt look cool. Hasbro captured the cartoon-physique of the character nicely and it reflects the look Anakin had in the TV show spot on.
Like with all the figures in the Tartakovsky Clone Wars series, this animated-style
Anakin Skywalker is charming, and
if you like this specific style, you'll very likely enjoy this figure.
