Animated-style Mace Windu's astromech droid R8-B7 was released in The Rise Of Boba Fett Ultimate Battlepack during The Clone Wars collection in August 2010. The set was a Toys'R'Us exclusive, and besides the spaceships Slave 1 and Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter,
it included figures of Bossk, Anakin Skywalker, young Boba Fett in cadet uniform, Mace Windu and this R8-B7.
The set is based on the Boba Fett story arch from the end of the second season of the Clone Wars TV show, which concluded with the episodes "Death Trap", "R2 Come Home", and "Lethal Trackdown".
The astromech droid has the typical 5 joints, with a rotating dome, 2 swivel legs, and 2 swivel ankles. There were no accessories included with the figure, but the droid has a few gadgets built-in. On the front, two of the panels can be opened, with each of them containing a tool that can be pulled out. The dome contains an antenna, which needs to be manually pulled up. On the back of the droid is a hidden compartment, which contains a grappling hook attached to a string. By rotating the dome, the grappling hook can be reeled in again. R8-B7 has two wheels in each foot, except for the middle leg which has one. The middle leg can also be removed, to put the droid in a "standing" position.
The paint application on R8-B7 appears to be a little off, especially the dark blue dome, and the dark body color seems to be much lighter in the TV show. The purple "eye" is missing, and the small "light" buttons on the side of the dome are painted in the wrong colors. There is also no weathering or dirt to be found on the droid. All in all, astromech droid R8-B7 turned out OK, but it could have been nicer with a paint application that mimics the TV character's appearance better.
